Visit the Hanes Llandoch website
Background
Hanes Llandoch is a community based organisation established to identify and promote the culture and heritage of West Wales and in particular North Pembrokeshire and the village of St.Dogmaels and its new Coach House Heritage Centre, which is used to house the surviving artifacts from the historic abbey.
The Coach House Heritage Centre will also use the considerable energy within the local community to stimulate wider interest in the abbey, the village and the surrounding area.
Requirements
The organisation aims to provide easy access to information about the Abbey and local area for a broad range of audiences including holiday visitors, historians, genealogical researchers and academics, schools and colleges.
The development of a new portal website is a key element of the overall project, bringing the whole project together and breathing life into the area.
Solution
We created a website that is beautifully designed, user-focused and easy to navigate, that will fulfil the needs of the different audiences perfectly. Key functionality of the site include:
- A full content management system allows staff at Hanes Llandoch to update the website at any time, with the ability to add new pages, images and documents
- An interactive flythrough is available on the site allowing visitors to get a glimpse of what the abbey would have looked like in medieval times
- An interactive map of the abbey encourages visitors to click on various parts of the abbey to find out more
- Events and activities at the abbey and local area are promoted via an Events Database allowing staff to present content in a structured form
- A touchscreen kiosk solution will be launched in the near future in the Coach House Centre providing additional information for visitors to the abbey, taken directly from the website
